At Natural World all our Staff are trained in every aspect of basic Pet care. Are philosophy is to then allocate our people into specific areas of interest where we can then educate them to become a specialist in that particular field. Our training programme is on-going and we are always researching new innovations and developments within our industry. Our goal is to provide exceptional levels of service and Pet care advice to our customers so you can shop with total confidence at Natural World.
NW Syston Manager - Colin Wise
Colin has been in the Pet industry for 30 Years and has incredible knowledge on all areas but has a passion for Malawi Cichlids and is involved in the lakemalawi.co.uk forum. At home Colin has around 60 tanks of tropical fish. Colin also has tremendous enthusiasm on the subject of Dog & Cat nutrition and has passed the Animal Medications Training & Regulations Authority (AMTRA) SQP course which enables him to recommend and sell certain treatments normally associated with Vets.
NW Syston Dog & Cat Team - Charlotte, Katie
Whether you need help with your Pets diet, flea & worm treatments, training your new puppy/kitten or any other useful information you require, this team will have the answers. Charlotte has been with us since 2004 and has great all round knowledge. Katie studied at Brooksby College to gain a National Diploma in Animal Management.
NW Syston Bird & Small animal team - Catherine, Lisa & Jenny.
Catherine is our Livestock Manager who studied at Brooksby College to gain 1st & National Diplomas in Animal care and the VETMED qualification. Kiel who as also spent 2 years studying small animals at Brooksby along with his aquatic knowledge makes him a very versatile member of the team,whilst Jenny has a particular passion for Birds both exotic and our friends in the garden. Lisa has come over from our Loughborough store and is the resident reptile expert, she has tremendous passion for all pets and keeps among other things a small group of chickens and a naughty cockrel.
NW Syston Aquatics Team - Anna, Kiel ,Mike,Sam, Kev and Tom.
Anna joined us in 2004 having previously worked in the Aquatics Industry. She has a particular interest in Gobies & Malawis'. Anna is also SQP qualified. Kiel studied at Brooksby College and gained a National Diploma. Mike is a Fish enthusiast and keeps both Pond and Tropical fish at home.Sam has rejoined the aquatic team and has a good knowledge of our specialist fish the Malawi cichlids,Kev works for us part time and studies at Brooksby animal college. Tom or LordTom as he is affectionately known as, has been with us since his school days.He is currently studying to be an astro physicist but at the moment he is having to make do explaining the nitrite cycle to our customers (he is also still learning to make a decent cup of tea).
Loughborough Store
Jess (Manager) has two parrots Kirby (Conure) Spud (Sengal) she also has a Bearded Dragon, Dog, Hamster, Fish and a rescue Cockatiel at home. she also has had Rats, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Frogs, Snakes so a bit of everything. Attended Brooksby College for 3 years and did her apprenticeship at Natural World Pets.
Hannah has been with us for a few years she keeps Rabbits and is particularly good with small animals.
Luke recently joined he has a Bearded Dragon Keola and a Leopard Gecko.
Our newest member is Andy who has just bought a Gecko to improve his knowledge and is being trained at the moment.
